Exhibition: Horse in Art 2026
For the next two weeks, the Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Gallery in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, is hosting the annual Society of Equestrian Artists’ Horse in Art 2026 exhibition, for which my graphite portrait ‘Raffaello’ was selected. On Sunday I joined the other very talented and inspirational artists for the Private View, and seeing mine hung amongst work by established and respected artists for the first time was both humbling and inspiring.
Throughout the exhibition the horse is celebrated and portrayed through a diversity of techniques and styles, from a detailed portrayal of calm moment to expressive and colourful interpretations of explosive energy. Talking to other exhibitors gave me a fresh perspective on my own work and new energy for my own artistic expression.
The Horse in Art has run for many years as one of the UK’s leading showcases for equestrian painting and sculpture. For an emerging artist, exhibiting here is an important moment and a chance to have work seen by people who share a love of horses.
The exhibition runs until 26th September 2026 and welcomes visitors looking for a new piece or just to appreciate the works on show, so call in if you’re passing!
